The process of forging is done at extremely high temperatures. Sometimes the temperature is as high as 1300 degrees Celsius. The high temperature helps to improve the ductility of metals. Initially the temperature is kept very high but gradually it is reduced to reach about 800 degree Celsius. As a result of such high temperatures, many harmful gases are emitted. Usually a glass furnace is used to collect all harmful gases and other impurities.
There are some metals which require even higher temperatures. Molybdenum is one such metal. Of all the glasses, extrusion glass is the most widely used glass lubricant while insulating glasses are the most least used types.
